About
Easter is one of my favorite holidays. When I was a kid, my family made this holiday feel so incredibly special. No matter where we were living, we always made the drive out to Great Grandma Della’s house for the annual Easter Egg Hunt.
Nana and Grandma went all out—hiding Easter eggs and baskets all over the yard and the house. We would be given clues and had to find our baskets based on those alone. It was an affair to remember, mainly because my brothers would get so frustrated when they got stuck on a clue and couldn’t find their baskets right away. Which makes sense—they were well hidden! I’ve found Easter baskets in bushes, washing machines, and under beds.
As we grew older, our traditions changed—as they naturally do. I no longer hunt for Easter baskets in washing machines, but we still try to celebrate together when we can. That can be difficult with everyone’s schedules and distance. Josh works three weeks on and three weeks off, so we often celebrate our holidays weeks before or even weeks after the official day.
Which is lucky for you, dear reader, because it means you get to pre-plan for your Easter dinner! We’ve put together a menu of some of our favorite dishes in the hopes that you’ll find one or two to add to your table this holiday.
Happy Easter!
